    What value does an IBG provide?

    Warranties and guarantees are in place to provide security if something goes wrong – they are your safety net but they are not all equal.

     

    Installers Workmanship Guarantee – The Handshake

    Installers will offer you their own guarantee for a period of time after the completion of the works and ensures the correct installation of the system. This guarantee provides protection, that if issues are found in the workmanship of the install, the client can then revert to the installer and have it remediated. This provides a level of comfort, but it is only as reliable as the company itself. If that company were to cease to trade, the guarantee would disappear.

    Written Materials Guarantee – The Provisional Pledge

    Manufacturers of systems to be installed (e.g. in façade projects the panels, fixings, insulation etc.) will guarantee the components used in the installation are free from manufacturing defects, as the manufacturer will have traceability over the products provided and ensure that the products are fit for purpose. This provides a great level of comfort, however the issue is that it only covers a fault in the materials themselves, it does not cover incorrect installation.

    Insurance-Backed Guarantee (IBG) – The Security Guardian

    This is the platinum product for protection. BB7 can provide this guarantee as a third-party entity from both the installer and the manufacturer. It covers, defects in materials, design, and workmanship, and crucially, it protects you if the installer, the manufacturer, or both, enter insolvency. This then provides financial protection to property owners and investors, as well as helping to satisfy contractual requirements on projects. Ultimately, providing peace of mind.
