The introduction of the Building Control Amendment Regulations (BCAR) 2014 requires the formal nomination of a competent person in the role of Assigned Certifier for applicable projects. It is the duty of the Assigned Certifier to inspect the works to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations.

What we do

We inspect roles of the design team, contractor and any specialist sub contractors ensuring all works are reviewed and signed off at the agreed project milestones.

How we do it

BB7 coordinate with the Client, Designers and Building Contractor to create an Inspection Plan and Inspection Notification Framework (INF) for the construction project in accordance with the Code of Practice for Inspecting and Certifying Works. We manage the online Building Control Management System (BCMS) on behalf of the Client and ensure the Local Building Control Authority are provided with all necessary certification at Commencement Stage, during the Construction Stage and at Completion Stage.

Upon completion

Upon satisfactory completion of the construction works and the receipt of all necessary Ancillary Certification and associated documentation, we upload the Certificate of Compliance on Completion to the Local Building Control Authority via the Building Control Management System (BCMS) for validation and entry onto the Register of completed buildings.

Upon satisfactory completion of the construction works and the receipt of all necessary BB7 can act as the Assigned Certifier on any construction projects requiring a Commencement Notice or a 7 Day Notice under Building Control Amendment Regulations (BCAR) 2014.
