Our Graduate Program - BB7

Our Graduate Program

Graduates play a crucial role in contributing to a company’s growth, adaptability, and success. Their unique attributes and potential for growth make them valuable assets, and investing in their development can yield long-term benefits for the business.

At BB7 we have a supportive graduate program to champion our graduates in reaching their full potential. Understanding that learning is more than just office-based we ensure that our graduates meet clients and experience “hands-on” learning in the infancy of their education, and throughout. Our team at BB7 recognises our graduates as individuals and tailors their journey to support them and their needs. We are proud of our past graduates and the success they have achieved, and we look forward to the future success of all our team.

I started at BB7 as a Graduate Fire Engineer around 6 years ago and I have developed both professionally and personally year after year. One of the highlights of working here has been the opportunity to pursue an MSc in Fire Safety Engineering, which was sponsored by BB7. I’ve had the privilege of working on great projects with some fantastic colleagues who have supported my career. I love that I am trusted to take ownership of my role without being micromanaged. Additionally, there is a vast amount of expertise across the company so there is always someone who can offer support when needed.

  • Graduate Fire Engineer - Hebe Colley

During my placement I have really enjoyed working within the BB7 Belfast Team and learning more about the world of fire engineering. The work has been extremely interesting and insightful, and at times challenging, but with the support of the team i have overcome the challenges. Through the range of different schemes, I have expanded my knowledge and gained practical experience.

It has been a great and valuable learning experience as it’s helped to visualise certain systems that are used within the industry, and it has helped to understand the text written in the standards. Overall, I have gained a wealth of experience and have enjoyed working with BB7 throughout my year placement and I’m looking forward to what the future will bring.

  • Graduate Fire Engineer - Zoë Kelly

I joined BB7 as a Placement Fire Engineer in June 2022, and the experience was invaluable, as it provided me with first-hand insight into what my career as a graduate fire engineer would look like. BB7 were really involved with my learning throughout my whole placement, and I worked on all different types of projects, such as schools, residential buildings, retail units and many more. I was also able to enhance my knowledge on both Irish and English guidance documents. The team ensured I experienced as many elements of Fire Engineering as possible before my return to college, and even offered me a part-time position which I gladly accepted. My experience with BB7 greatly benefited me in my final year at college as I was able to apply all I had learned to my studies. I had continued support from the company while I finished my degree. I am not a full-time Graduate Fire Engineer and I am very excited to continue my journey with BB7 as I know my learning and career progression will be constantly encouraged.
