BB7 at the BGF ESG Forum 2025
We recently attended the BGF ESG Forum 2025 in Birmingham for an inspiring day that brought together leaders from across the BGF portfolio to share their experiences, challenges and successes in embedding environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices into their organisations.
Representing BB7 were Rebecca Bower, Marketing Director and founding member of BB7’s ESG Board, and Jenna Lagodziuk, Bid Manager and a member of BB7’s ESG Board. As a BGF-backed company, the forum provided an invaluable opportunity for us to learn from our peers, exchange ideas and reflect on how ESG strategies are driving both cultural and commercial value – something that sits at the heart of our ‘Do Good, Be Good’ value.
Key takeaways from the day
The forum combined workshops, case studies, and peer-to-peer learning to explore practical ways ESG is making a difference across businesses. Our highlights included:
- Learning from peers – Everyone shared their challenges and successes to help each other refine strategies and identify practical solutions. Having this collaborative approach underlined that ESG progress is a journey, rather than a box-ticking exercise.
- Real-world impact – It was invaluable to hear from companies such as Planixs, Victorian Sliders and BF1 present on their ESG journeys over the past 12-18 months and what the benefits they were able to demonstrate for their people, communities and business operations.
- Embedding ESG into strategy – The workshops emphasised the financial value of ESG and its role in creating a future-ready organisation. We explored how sustainability and social impact can influence culture, workforce engagement, and long-term business growth.
- Celebrating progress – The day was also about recognising our peers’ achievements and showcasing how others are turning their ESG ambitions into measurable outcomes.
For us, the forum was yet another reminder of the importance of collaboration and accountability in advancing ESG initiatives. As a certified B Corp, we are committed to embedding sustainability into the way we work. This means reducing our environmental footprint, driving social value across the built environment and in our local communities, and making sure our progress is transparent.
