Health and safety design refers to the intentional incorporation of safety considerations and principles into the design process of construction projects. It identifies and mitigates potential hazards, minimises risks, and promotes the well-being and safety of individuals who interact with the designed entity.

By integrating health and safety considerations from the early stages of the design process, health and safety design aims to create products, systems, or environments that prioritise user well-being, reduce accidents and injuries, and promote a culture of safety. It requires collaboration between designers, engineers, safety professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure that safety is a fundamental aspect of the final design.
At BB7 we will act as Health & Safety Design Coordinator in the capacity of Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) for all relevant construction project. Our aim is to develop a safety culture from design, through to construction and subsequently for the future maintenance of the building.

Peter McKay
Associate Director
Peter is a chartered surveyor and has extensive construction experience, working for main contractors, architectural practices and property management companies.
Peter’s specialism is in Building Control and Health and Safety consultancy and has completed these roles on a wide variety of projects from apartment developments, museums, schools, restaurants, and shopping centres. Peter has a passion for the outdoors and has travelled to five continents.
