The BB7 response
BB7’s role on the project was to attend site and produce a Construction Site Fire Strategy Report for the construction phase of the project. Following attendance at site, BB7 formulated a Construction Site Fire Strategy which puts forward outline proposals for the fire safety provisions to be incorporated into the construction period of the development to help ensure safety to construction workers and attending fire service in the event of a fire.
Benefits of service
Due to the constantly changing nature of a construction site, BB7 worked closely with Sir Robert McAlpine to provide periodic updates to the Construction Site Fire Strategy Report to ensure that it remained up to date with the construction programme. The periodic updates also allowed for incorporation of any fire safety issues that were raised on site during the construction period and provided suitable solutions to address these issues.
