Graduate Security Engineer

The Role

A key requirement for this role will be the ability to understand stakeholder requirements and client requirements, in both strategic security and technical security areas.

Engagement is key, with stakeholders being groups such as the client teams, architectural design teams, police and counter terrorism officers. Understanding their needs in terms of business continuity, risk appetite and cost constraints ultimately drive the product that we provide.

A graduate security consultant will be expected to be willing and able to learn the fundamentals of Security Strategy and Technical Security Design. This process will involve hands-on learning through the course of project work as well as dedicated course time for areas in which certification may be sought, for instance, AutoCAD & BIM technical design courses.

Role Requirements

Key requirements for a security engineer include the following:

  • Willing and able to learn both Strategic and Technical aspects
  • Communicate with outside design teams
  • Contribute to the company vision and mission through technical excellence
  • Willing to undertake courses, e.g. AutoCAD training
  • Problem solver, managing conflict and difficult situations
  • Able to raise key questions and engage with stakeholders
  • Question the norm – think outside the box
