BB7 are an award-winning practice working on a wide variety of construction projects in Ireland, the United Kingdom and the Middle East. The BB7 Dublin Office is comprised of the two integrated teams covering Building Control & Safety and Fire Safety Engineering.

We are currently recruiting a Building Surveyor to be part of the Building Control & Safety team. The Building Control & Safety team are currently working on a variety of prestigious projects through-out Ireland and the successful candidate will be exposed to all aspects of these projects from start to completion.  Working alongside the Fire Safety Engineering team the candidate will have the opportunity to also gain experience in this field.

The candidate will gain a wide variety of experience with site visits to different sized construction projects and a variety of methods of construction.  BB7 will fully support a candidate in their APC Chartership process and we can provide the full range of experience required to achieve Level 3 in the Core Competencies.

To be suitable for this role, the candidate will need to have a minimum of 18 months experience working in the construction industry.  The candidate must also have a working knowledge of the Building Regulations.

The candidate will be able to work from home or be based in our Ranelagh Office in Dublin.  We invest in our people and their continuing professional development by actively encouraging and supporting employees to complete further training and gaining chartered status.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reviewing drawings and specifications;
  • Assisting BB7’s Building Surveyors, Fire Safety Engineers and the Structural Engineer in the completion of site inspections.
  • Attending Site Meetings with Architects, Engineers, main contractors and specialist contractors;
  • Liaising with design team members, main contractors and specialist contractors to develop the Inspection Plans, Certification Schedules and Benchmark Schedules;
  • Managing the implementation of the Inspection Plan, tracking of Ancillary Certifier inspections and scheduling Assigned Certifier inspections;
  • Preparation and submission of Commencement Notices and Certificates of Compliance on Completion on the Building Control Management System;
  • Completion of Preliminary Health and Safety Plans.
