Jamie Davis becomes BB7’s Head of Fire Risk Management

Jamie joined BB7 as a senior fire engineer, providing support to the fire risk management team in England and Scotland. Jamie will now oversee the delivery and development of BB7’s fire risk management services and contribute to the future advancement of strategic fire risk management.

He has extensive experience within the field of fire risk management, having previously worked for other fire safety consultancies and fire engineering providers. Jamie holds a first class honours degree in fire safety engineering and is a chartered building engineer. Additionally, Jamie was presented the certificate of excellence from the University of South Wales, to recognize his outstanding performance and commitment. Before moving into the private sector, Jamie spent 12 years with Kent Fire and Rescue service in an operational and fire safety capacity.

Jamie’s last full-time post within Kent Fire and Rescue Service was in charge of the enforcement department, as the lead investigating officer for alleged offences under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. During this time, Jamie was responsible for investigating and managing potential prosecution cases on behalf of the fire authority.

Jamie has also provided technical support and project management to major fire safety projects, such as the premises risk management project, automatic fire alarm response project and fire safety co-ordination at major events.

Due to the secondment of the latter project, Jamie was the lead officer for overseeing the fire safety arrangements at all major events west of the County of Kent. These events included major music festivals and the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic events.

Being a NEBOSH accredited trainer, delivering the national certificate in fire and risk management, Jamie has also provided additional fire safety and risk management training to some UK Fire and Rescue services, London Underground, independent consultancies and the Health and Safety Executive. Additionally, Jamie has been a guest speaker for various organisations, including the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

Jamie’s professional passion includes managing the fire safety of heritage buildings, having provided advice and conducted risk assessments on many heritage listed buildings of national importance.

Jamie has acted as expert witness for the High Court of Justice in a fire risk management dispute, providing an opinion to the adequacy of fire safety arrangements and joint expert in another litigation case surrounding construction deficiencies.

Ben Bradford says ‘BB7 are rapidly expanding, being recognised as global leaders in the field of fire risk management. Jamie is a strong advocate of BB7’s core values, and as such, I am confident that Jamie is the person to lead BB7’s fire risk management division into the next chapter.
